The VCA Art Program is taugh by Mrs. Aber and Mrs. Slater. Mrs. Slater teaches Art from Kindergarten to 3rd Grade and Mrs. Aber teaches Art from 4th Grade to 8th Grade. Each grade does different and unique projects. They work with paint, pastel, and 5th grade even enters a poster contest.

In art, we teach these God-created elements through the following medium: pencil, pen, crayon, paper, markers, pastels, oil pastels, paint such as water based oils and watercolor, inks, clay and other sculpturing materials.

We focus on the following concentration in art: design, drawing, painting, printing, clay, sculpture/construction, architecture, and art history.
Emphasis is placed on the following subject matter in order to increase one's visual perception and visual vocabulary: people, houses, trees, flowers, animals, modes of transportation, landscapes and found objects.

Many projects will be taught step by step to develop sequential thinking skills with emphasis upon creative thinking and self expression. Fine motor skills and eye hand motor coordination are enhanced by manipulation of materials and drawing. Sensory skills are enriched by hands on art projects.

In grades k-8 students will have a yearly curriculum each year building upon another based on the information above.
Through art we hope to expose students to the awesomeness of God's creation and encourage each students to create meaningful works of art that glorify God and lifts up others.
