8^th grade Leadership retreat at Camp Dixie

*The Middle School staff is sponsoring an 8th grade leadership 1-day retreat at Camp Dixie this Wednesday, which we hope will become an annual event for students and staff. It will serve as both a “get to know each other” event with some summer fun, and a team-building opportunity for Christian leadership is our goal. Pastor O’Briant will speak at the chapel.

Last day for “Powercard” collection $

*This is the last day to turn in your restaurant “Powercard” money and cards.  We are asking every student to sell 10 cards or bring $100 to the school office. Remember, cards are only $10 and can be purchased from any VCA student. If we reach our $80,000 goal, the Battle of the Sexes competition will continue!

Duke TIP meeting for parents 4pm #2208

*Congratulations to nearly half of our 90 7th graders who qualified for the Duke “TIP” program.  The minimum requirement is a 95%ile on at least one major subject test from their 6th grade SAT.

The parent meeting with counselor Mrs. Nielsen and Mrs. Dayton will be at 4pm in room #2208.

*Join the yearbook staff at Chic-fil-A every 2nd Tuesday for their fundraiser.  Yearbooks are on sale now for $45 and you may purchase an ad for your business or special student.  See Mrs. Leta Spain for details.

(babysitting available for VCA school-age children)

*This first meeting of the PTO is an informal meeting of parents, VCA staff, and the newly elected PTO officers and their executive board. Come at 7pm for fellowship, ice cream, and information on how you can help this year.  Babysitting is available from 7-8pm
