"The thing I like most about my job is that I can almost always stop
whatever I am doing and give a student extra time if he or she is upset over
a problem at school or home.
Sometimes, teachers and assista nts get frustrated because they are
convinced the student is sick when in reality the student just needs some
extra attention. The first thing the students get to do when they visit the
health center is to talk to my turtle, Harriett. After talking to her and
drinking "Magic 7-Up", they forget they were supposed to be sick!
I love the fact that I know almost every child personally. I get to know
about their families, if anyone is sick, deployed, new baby on the way or
even if parents are out of town. When parents are out of town, I will
usually have lots of stomach aches!
I thank the Lord every night for my job. I would appreciate all of you
remembering me in your prayers and ask the Lord to be with me when caring
for your child.
Harriett's Bio:
A
parent found Harriett in Aaron Lakes last April. She was only three days
old. The Kindergarten class had a turtle and his name was Franklin. There is
a book about Franklin an his baby sister's name is Harriett. Everyone
thought that Mrs. Sublett should name the turtle Harriett.
Harriett loves attention by having her belly rubbed and will eat hot
dogs or bologna right out of your hand. |
