Light up your life with the Fireflies!

Our class verse is Matthew 5:16… “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.”  We want to be God’s lights.  We want others to see Him in us and be drawn to Him."

Welcome parents and fireflies! I am very excited to take this opportunity to welcome you to Village Christian Academy and introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Bonnie Sims. I am new to VCA this year but, not new to teaching. I have taught now for over ten years. My students have included kindergarteners, first graders, third graders, and even the occasional adult. Truth be told though, I enjoy teaching first graders the best. God has placed a joy and love in my heart for children and the profession of teaching, an honor I take very seriously. I am continually amazed at how our Creator has equipped these children to prosper, learn, and grow to meet the challenges of first grade and all the accomplishments they encounter. We are also blessed with a full time teaching assistant for our class. Her name is Mrs. Toomey and she has three sons enrolled at VCA. They will be entering the 12th, 9th, and 7th grades. My two children are grown now. My son just graduated from Western Carolina with a chemistry degree and my daughter will be a senior at Pensacola Christian College. She is an education major.

As we begin this year, please feel free to communicate to me any questions or concerns you may have. If I cannot answer your concern right away, I will research it and get back to you as soon as possible. I am looking forward to joining with you to make this year a successful and pleasant experience for your child both academically and spiritually. I am very excited to see what God has planned for us this year as we serve Him in the "Firefly" class.
